Phone Unboxing: Samsung Galaxy S II

Written by Rachid Otsmane-Elhaou. Posted in Phone Reviews

Well, along with the Eee Pad Transformer, I also splashed out on the Samsung Galaxy S II yesterday! This phone is fantastic, its sooo light (you’ll notice my surprise further down), the screen is one of hte best, if not the best I’ve ever seen on a phone, and it literally flies thanks to the dual core 1.2Ghz cpu inside!

An unboxing of this beast is below for your personal pleasure!

Is this real that SGS 2 can have different thickness in every country ?

    Cool stuff man!.
Did you notice anything negative about the device?
Is it heating up on long calls/usage? Does the GPS work fast and precise?
Is there any creaking sound on the back cover? How durable is the home button?
I know – those were a lot of questions!!.. I’ve been using SGS-I for long and quite pleased with it. I am planning to buy SGS-II next week.

    Hey,

nothing negative at the moment. Well the back is flimsy when off the device,
but it is very sturdy when on. Its a pain to remove but you wont
    be doing this often.

haven’t used it for long periods yet so cant comment on heat

    GPS is instant!!

no creaking on back cover, back is very tough and sturdy.

home button is better than the home button on the original galaxy s, again
    it feels more sturdy.

Good vid Rachid, especially like the speed of the thing. A lot of that will be down to the new filesystem samsung have used, they’ve obviously listened to customer feedback. Looking forward to the full reviews. Thoughts on the gps quality and battery life would be good.

Well I’ll give hulk details in the review, but first impressions:

Gps is fantastic, it picks up immediately and accurately. No need to mention
it’s infinitely better than the original galaxy s gps!

Battery is ok. Lasts a day for me, I use it a lot tho!

They have definitely improved upon the bad things associated with the first
    version that’s for sure.

thats good to hear. Samsung are in a strong position now as they got the phone to market before the htc sensation hits. Will be interesting to see the results of the apple v samsung lawsuite. Anyways, sent you a pm. nice site and keep the reviews coming. ;)
