Google Play Weekly Downloads [April 20 2012]

Hello my name is Richard aka DroidExaminer. Here at Droid-Den on every Friday, I will give you a review on a couple of Google Play gems that I feel are worthy of a download. Here are this week’s must downloads.

1. Death Rally Free by Remedy Entertainment [Free]

I loved playing "Twisted Metal" on my old Playstation 1. This game is a variation of just that. The developer "Remedy Entertainment" has developed big console like titles like "Max Payne and "Alan Wake", so the expectations are high. The game has  a thrilling career mode where you can upgrade and level up your cars and weapons with in-app purchases, or for FREE through TapJoy sponsored actions. On screen controls are basic left right steering from a top down perspective, while you have a trigger button for your weapons. It was a fun concept to racing that honestly has not been duplicated imo recently. Although Death Rally is fun, it is its own unique form of racing and mayhem that I very much enjoyed.

2.Babylonian Twins by Cosmos Interactive [Free]

I enjoy platformer games. I feel that the Android Market Google Play Store lacks in that department. Babylonian Twins is a great and i mean top notch platformer. This game has puzzle solving, gem grabbing, double jumps, charge attacks, you can switch and tag team between both characters, secret pssageways, this is the type of game that you would want to play for a long while in one sitting. The only true thing missing is a fat red overall wearing plumber. Its set in Mesopotamia and the level and graphic design are great as well and is what drives this game to be top quality. Download it people!

3. PicsArt [Free]

Without this application. My life on Instagram would not be complete. I have been using PicsArt for years and I feel that this is the best implementation of photo filtering in Google Play hands down. I constantly am using this filter on my Instagram pictures before i upload them. Instagram in my opinion lacks many photo features but this is where Picsart picks up the slack. There are so many features here is a quick rundown.

Photo Edit - Tons of photo filters, collage, frames, stickers, text effects, clipart graphics, crop, rotate, adjust color and add artistic effects.

Magic effects - awesome artistic photo effects such as Stenciler, Cartoonizer, Sketcher, Orton, Lomo, Vintage, Cross Process, HDR, Fattal, Pencil, Holgaart, Watercolor, Sketcher, Contours, Comic, Neon, Gouache, Old Paper, Pastel, Red Eye Remover, Holgaart, Popart 2, Smart Blur, Face Fix, Color Splash and more.

(My Favorites are HDR1, HDR2, Fattal1, Fattal 2)

There is also drawing functions to draw on pictures, use the stock camera to enhance with certain effects, and also sharing your pictures on the Picsart social network.

This is the photo app you need. I don't even believe i touched to depth of what you can do with this photo shop clone on your phone.

Take care that's it for this week. Let the downloading commence.
