Samsung vs Apple [California Schedule Edition]

Apple have taken Samsung to court all over the world recently (Germany, Holland, Australia to name a few) regarding various design IP issues. Today news has broken about Apple having won a scheduling victory over Samsung in Northern California.

This represents a victory for Apple due to how quickly the lawsuit will go to trial. Typical patent lawsuits in that area take ~23 months to get to trial, which would correspond to a date of March 2013. However, Apple has managed to get a date set for July 30th 2012. Samsung have actually opposed this date, with theirargument being the aforementioned typical time to trial, especially for what is expected to be a very complex trial.
