O2 Delay Sony Ericsson Xperia Play

Written by Rachid Otsmane-Elhaou. Posted in Android News

O2 have decided to delay the release of their Sony Xperia Play android phone. Originally to be released on April 1st, they have delayed it for an unspecified amount of time. The reason being they believe the software to be buggy on the device.

O2 say:

“We’ve been testing the phone non-stop for weeks and have found some bugs in the software that, if they’re not fixed, means customers won’t have a great experience. We’ve been working with Sony Ericsson to get these bugs ironed out, but haven’t been able to get them fixed in time for us to be able to launch the phone on April 1st as we originally planned.”

This is interesting news because we know that other networks will still be releasing hte phone on this date. Does it mean that they simply haven’t found the bug, their testing isn’t as rigorous? Or they simply think its not that big of an issue?
