Google Maps For Android Updated With Bubble Buttons

Written by Rachid Otsmane-Elhaou. Posted in Android News

Google Maps for Android has just been updated in the market. The main changes are the addition of transit navigation features. However, the best new feature is surely the addition of bubble buttons to labs.  This feature adds a shortcut to a place selection to enable you to call or navigate to the place quickly.

To enable the bubble buttons, do the following:

Menu > More > Labs > Scroll down to “Bubble Buttons” and tap it to turn it on.

Full list of changes are:

  • Voice and ring tone notifications for Transit Navigation (Beta)
  • Tablet support for Transit Navigation (Beta)
  • ‘Bubble Buttons’ Lab to add call and navigate buttons to results on the map
