Apple Sues Amazon Over Appstore Name

Written by Rachid Otsmane-Elhaou. Posted in Android News

In what is quite possibly the funniest news of the week, we hear that Apple is suing Amazon over their use of the App store name! Yes thats right, they are suing them for using the phrase “AppStore”. Now I don’t know about American law, but to me this is akin to suing someone for using the term “Grocery Store” or “Trainer Store”. Its just ridiculous…

Amazon will however, argue that their use of the term is different, “Appstore” as opposed to Apples “ApP Store”… Their legal dept will have their hands full with that one it seems.

The image below is of a stock Apple, I’m not sure if I’m allow3ed to post their actual logo for trademark reasons.

Apple actually have a trademark for the term “App Store”. Who actually grants these? Thats sounds idiotic to me…
