5. Whole Bunch of Phones Running Honeycomb!

7. Honeycomb Themed Launcher Pro
If you like movies, and lets face it who doesn’t, then you’ll probably already have this app installed. I’m extremely impressed with the update. The first page lists the latest trailers with a link to the full page. It does it in a really neat way too. Very smooth from IBDM, I actually think I’ll be using this app a lot more now.
Expansys have priced this model at £514.99. I thought that the new wave of dual core smartphones would be at least £500, and probably more towards the £550 mark to be honest. £514.99 is actually a lot for a mobile phone, thinking back to only last year, the HTC Desire and Samsung Galaxy S were pretty much released at around the £450 mark. Is this a new fashion in smartphones? Perhaps the price will settle down once a few of them have actually hit the shelves, at least I’m hoping so.
Now having said all that, it does look like a damn sweet phone!
So I’m quite a verbal naysayer of white phones. I generally find them to be truly ugly. I guess it has something to do with my general preference towards darker colours such as black. But even I have to admit this phone does kinda look sorta nice.. If you were on the edge about whether or not to get this phone, would white change your mind?
Nearly forgot, if you do fancy this one, you’ll have to move to O2 as they have it exclusively. The Xperia Play will be available on O2 on April 1st, but no details if thats just the standard black version, or the white one too.
Launching in Spring, designed for tablets. It looks quite nice actually. Looks quite smooth, and adds in media features without being too overbearing. I think the success of apps like these will depend entirely on pricing, and download size.
This shouldn’t really be a surprise to anyone anymore. Devs porting unreleased android versions and phone roms to devices has become the norm, rather than the exception. The video below shows honeycomb running on teh HTC Incredible, however versions for the HTC Desire HD and Evo have also beed developed. Still what you may call alpha, but very impressive nonetheless.
One of the most popular, and oldest twitter clients for android has been suspended by Titter for a breach of their policy. They don’t actually mention any specific details, but this will affect a lot of android users due to its popularity. I’ll keep you guys updated on this via my twitter feed, it will be interesting to see if and how this is resolved.
This is cool, no questions. Signals 23 has created a honeycomb themed version of popular launcher replacement Launcher Pro. The theme only effects launcher pro widgets, so to see any changes you must have the pro version (it’s worth it). Signals23 also have a decent number of different versions if honeycomb isn’t your pot of…honey -_-Google+ Profile
